I am dog of the month! My adoption fee is $400!

Hello, my name is Tater, and I am a spirited and affectionate mix looking for a special home that can provide the understanding and patience I need. I have had my share of challenges in life, and I come with a history that includes some bite incidents. These moments stem from anxiety and fear, often triggered by overwhelming situations or when I feel cornered. But don't let that discourage you! With the right environment and guidance, I have so much love to give, and I am ready to learn how to navigate the world with a human by my side. I thrive in calm environments and do best with experienced dog parents who can help me feel secure. I am a quick learner and respond well to positive reinforcement; with the right training and socialization, I know I can become the well- mannered companion you've been looking for. As your sidekick, I promise to offer endless loyalty and joy, bursting with playful energy and affection for those I trust. I love children and my foster brother Zeke, we’re besties. I have so much potential, and I believe that with love, patience, and understanding, I can overcome my past and achieve a bright future. If you're ready to take on the rewarding journey of nurturing a dog like me, I can't wait to meet you! Let's create a bond built on trust and companionship, and together, we can rewrite my story into one filled with love and happiness.

Name: Zelda

Gender: Female
Age: Born December 18, 2024

Approx. size/weight when full grown: 50lbs
Breed: German Shephard x

Zelda is a fun-loving, rambunctious adolescent with a big personality and an equally big heart. She’s playful, silly, and full of enthusiasm — and when she finally runs out of steam, she turns into a fantastic snuggle buddy who’s happiest curled up on the couch with her people.

Zelda is a big fan of her salmon-based food (no toppers needed!) and absolutely loves toys — especially squeaky ones. Her favourite is her squeaky mushroom, which she proudly squeaks once she finds the good spot. She also enjoys rope toys for tug and chewing during quiet time.

She’s currently adjusting to a more typical routine where she’s home alone during the day. This transition has been a learning curve, and she’s shown some uncertainty as she settles in however she continues to make progress and gain confidence.

Zelda is still learning about her crate. While she can be hesitant going in, she settles nicely once she’s there and remains calm and quiet. She is always excited for her daily walk then quickly relaxes and becomes a lovely walking companion. Like many young dogs, distractions can be exciting, and she’ll benefit from continued leash and confidence-building training.

On walks, Zelda is very interested in other dogs and enjoys watching them. She’s still learning how to manage her excitement and would do best with guidance to help her develop polite greetings. Around people, she’s friendly and affectionate and loves staying close to her humans — she’ll happily follow you from room to room.

Zelda can be a bit chatty, occasionally expressing herself with barks, howls, or soft “commentary” when she hears household or neighbourhood noises.

Zelda would thrive in a home that embraces puppy energy, enjoys training, and has a backyard where she can play chase and burn off zoomies. She’s eager to please, proud when she does things right, and ready to grow into a wonderful companion.

Zelda requires a home without cats.

Name: DiNozzo

Gender: Male
Age: Born April 24, 2025

Approx. size/weight when full grown: 40-80 0lbs
Breed: Shepherd/husky mix

Born right here in our care, DiNozzo's mom is a stunning Husky Shepherd mix, and while we're not quite sure who Dad was, one thing's for sure: this little guy inherited the best of both worlds! (And maybe a touch of mischievous charm thrown in for good measure).

Named DiNozzo after, well, you guessed it, that charismatic agent from NCIS. And just like his namesake, this DiNozzo is a true character! He's always up for a game of chase, loves to tumble and wrestle with his siblings, and is never afraid to voice his opinion (hence the "talkative" part!). Expect lots of happy barks, playful growls, and plenty of adorable puppy whines when he wants your attention.

DiNozzo is a bundle of energy, but he also has a sweet and affectionate side. He loves to snuggle up for a nap after a good play session and is always eager for a scratch behind the ears. He's a smart little guy too, and we're sure he'll pick up on training quickly with a patient and loving owner.

Approx. size/weight when full grown: 40-80 0lbs

What makes Knight stand out from the pack? It's not just her adorable puppy charm, but her mesmerizing heterochromia – one captivating blue eye and one warm, chocolate brown eye. It's like looking into the depths of the ocean and the comforting earth, all in one adorable gaze!

Knight is a confident girl with an adventurous spirit

Once her playful energy is spent, Knight transforms into a snuggle bug extraordinaire.

Name: Link
Gender: Male
Age: Born December 18, 2024
Approx. size/weight when full grown: 50-70lbs

Breed: German Shephard x

Imagine being just six weeks old, living outdoors in a rural community during freezing winter temperatures—surrounded by ten other dogs, competing for food, warmth, and survival. That was Link’s beginning. It’s a heartbreaking start, but it’s only one small chapter of his story. Link came into care with Megan's Rescue in the dead of winter—tiny, unsure, and still learning that the world could be kind. Since then, he has done nothing but grow. Now a young adult, Link is patiently waiting for the family he’s always deserved. Link is a happy, gentle soul with a playful streak. He adores his toys and has a special love for carrying sticks along on his adventures. He travels wonderfully in the car, is house trained, and crate trained—making him an easy companion to welcome into a home. He does well with other dogs, though he can show some resource-guarding tendencies, so continued guidance and structure will help him thrive. Because of his rough start, Link isn’t 100% confident in every situation yet—but he is eager to learn, eager to please, and highly food motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for both of you. Above all else, Link loves people. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s by your side, building trust and soaking up love. Link has survived his hardest days. Now he’s ready for his best ones—could that be with you? 🐾

To help me settle into a new home and make it my forever home, it is required that my new family enroll us in training classes before I get to go home. These classes would need to start within my first 2 weeks of being in my new home

Milly

Gender: Female

DOB: February 19, 2017

Approx. weight; 10lbs

Breed: Chihuahua

Milly is an older Chihuahua with a heart full of love, just waiting to be unlocked. This little lady came into our care after the heartbreaking passing of her beloved owner. While she's been through a lot of change recently, we're dedicated to finding her the perfect, loving home she deserves. In her previous life, Milly enjoyed the company of other small dogs, mostly Chihuahuas just like herself! She’s also good with cats. She's comfortable around canine companions her size, however, she didn’t receive much socialization outside her immediate pack and lacks experience in areas like leash walking. Since coming into care Milly has learned that peeing outside isn’t so bad so she is now house trained. Since joining our rescue Milly has been making strides adapting to wearing a harness and experiencing the simple pleasures of a walk, like sniffing the fresh grass beneath her little paws. Milly is searching for a special home, one with someone who understands the unique charm and quirks of the Chihuahua breed. She is best suited in a home with a single person or a quiet couple who can provide her with the individual attention and unwavering love she craves. Milly bonds deeply with her person and will be a loyal and affectionate companion. She is not suited for a busy home with children.

It's important to remember that losing her owner has left Milly feeling scared and unsure. She needs a patient and understanding owner who will allow her the time and space to adjust to her new surroundings. She appreciates calm environments and a gentle approach as she learns to trust and feel secure again. Milly is a sweet and deserving girl who deserves to spend her golden years in a loving and supportive home.

Important Considerations:

Experience with Chihuahuas: Knowledge of the breed's specific needs and tendencies is a definite plus!

Patience and Understanding: Milly needs time to adjust and build trust.

Quiet Home Environment: A calm and predictable environment will help her feel safe and secure.

Future Veterinary Care: Milly has had a full dental procedure, and she has some mineralization around her liver and bladder that requires more tests once she is more comfortable with being handled and going to the vet (SHE HATES VET APPOINTMENTS) This would be at the cost of her new family
