History: Hi there! My name is Blazey and I think I am well named because just like the mythological Phoenix, I have risen from the ashes of a past where I was not well treated to transform into a symbol of true renewal. Not long ago, I graduated from the reactivity class at Dogma (I have the certificate to prove it!) and was approved to take their Urban Foundations classes that I am breezing through and will soon finish! But I will miss all the dogs and people I have met! Anyone feel like an agility class??? Maybe scenting? I have an adventurous soul.
Hope I don’t sound vain, but I am smart! I love learning new things and I love treats! That makes me an easy-to- train powerhouse! I love to go for car rides and enjoy visiting dog-friendly stores. I am also good with other dogs and mature kids. And walking... I love it and will be ready to go whenever you are.
I should warn you that at my current foster home I sometimes break out into song and enjoy harmonizing with my backup singers although I am not sure whether I will retire when I am in a home. I will do well in a calm, compassionate home that understands that I may occasionally react to something new (who doesn’t?) but that I have never harmed anyone, and I will settle quickly. Because, once I trust you, I will be a loving, affectionate, lap-loving life companion. Milly is an 8-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of love, just waiting to be unlocked. This little lady came into our care after the heartbreaking passing of her beloved owner. While she's been through a lot of change recently, we're dedicated to finding her the perfect, loving home she deserves.
In her previous life, Milly enjoyed the company of other small dogs, mostly Chihuahuas just like herself! She’s also good with cats. She's comfortable around canine companions her size, however, she didn’t receive much socialization outside her immediate pack and lacks experience in areas like leash walking. Since coming into care Milly has learned that peeing outside isn’t so bad so she is now house trained.
Since joining our rescue Milly has been making strides adapting to wearing a harness and experiencing the simple pleasures of a walk, like sniffing the fresh grass beneath her little paws.
Milly is searching for a special home, one with someone who understands the unique charm and quirks of the Chihuahua breed. She is best suited in a home with a single person or a quiet couple who can provide her with the individual attention and unwavering love she craves. Milly bonds deeply with her person and will be a loyal and affectionate companion. She is not suited for a busy home with children.
