Tater has a distinguished personality and a heart full of potential. He is a spirited, affectionate dog looking for a special home that can offer patience, structure, and understanding.

He thrives in calm environments, loves children, and gets along well with other dogs. Tater strikes the perfect balance between adventure companion and couch potato—always eager to explore, but just as happy to relax at home. He especially enjoys rope toys, balls, long-lasting chews, and his beloved Canada-themed tug toy. Outdoors, Tater is in his element and loves hiking, exploring, and sunbathing in the backyard.

On walks, Tater may pull briefly at the start due to excitement, but he quickly settles into a loose leash and becomes a calm, enjoyable walking companion. He’s curious about squirrels and rabbits but responds well to redirection and knows “leave it.” A quick learner, Tater does best with positive reinforcement training.

Tater can be skeptical of new people and may bark when someone approaches or enters the home, but he has been making encouraging progress. Once he forms a bond, he is deeply loyal, affectionate, and devoted. He loves being close to his people, often following them from room to room, happily snuggling on the couch, and sleeping soundly through the night without early morning wake-ups.
