Megan Steele
Founder & President
I started in rescue back in 2012 as a foster and volunteer. I quickly learned that this was a passion of mine. I fostered for 4 other rescues before taking a leap of faith and starting this rescue in 2014. I am a proud mama of my rescue pup Kinsley who is a Turkish Kangal mix and my 6th personal dog as an adult. When I am not working with animals I love to travel and work on my photography.
Debbie Bohna
Treasurer
Debbie started with the rescue as a foster in 2015. She helps in all areas of the rescue. She loves animals and spending time with her family.
Cassandra Fiander
Director
A dedicated advocate for animal welfare, I began volunteering in animal rescue in 2020. This passion quickly blossomed into a personal mission, leading our family to adopt three rescue dogs and one cat. These days outside of balancing a career and raising 3 children our family dedicates time to fostering cats providing temporary care and love to animals awaiting their forever homes.
Moss Sahlen
Medical Director
Started volunteering with the rescue in June of 2022 a few months after I moved into the city. I've always had a huge passion for rescue and animal care, a huge goal of mine being to hopefully become a veterinarian one day. Outside of rescue I'm a huge nerd, you'll find me either attempting to perfect my (non-existent) skills at drawing paws and hands or out on the river paths longboarding my way around. If I'm not drawing or longboarding chances are I'm online with friends conquering the next great game.
Tanis Bartlett
Secretary & Volunteer Coordinator
I work full time, have a husband and 2 sons and currently live with 2 dogs and a kitten all adopted from MRES. I enjoy camping, biking, paddle boarding and am a die hard flames fan. Some of the other areas that I volunteer for at MRES are the reference checks and I am on the home check team. I try to get out to volunteer at some of the events when time allows.
