Volunteer Requirements
Volunteering should fit your schedule, but we do have a few general requirements.

Volunteers are asked to commit to 60 hours per year. The hours can be split however you like and done at your pace.

Volunteers must be willing to complete the application form which includes reference check and online orientation prior to their first shift.

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.

Megan’s Rescue is a force free cat and dog rescue and as such all volunteers are required adhere to our force free methods.
General Volunteer Positions
Immediate openings for all positions
At Megan’s Rescue everyone is welcome! We are fully inclusive and have opportunities for everyone. Not able to leave the house or love animals but have allergies, ask us about our online volunteer options.

Event Volunteers
Events are typically held on each Saturday and some Sundays and include fun activities like adoption events, dog washes, BBQs, markets and more!

Dog & Cat Caregivers
Animal care is multifaceted and can include such tasks as feeding, cleaning, transporting to appointments or the best part; cuddles!

Foster Homes
Foster a cat or dog or maybe even both! You provide the temporary home and love we provide all supplies, vetting and support!

Fundraising Volunteer
Planning and excuting fundraising events

Dog Walkers
Dog walking is typically 1 hour in the evenings from 6pm-8pm.

Laundry Angels
Assist by taking home towels, blankets or pet dishes for cleaning
Coordinator Positions
As a volunteer coordinator you will lead and motivate your team of general volunteers while working closely with other coordinators to help fulfill the mission of Megan's Rescue Effort Society

Volunteer Coordinator
Act as the main point of contact for all general volunteers and maintaining a volunteer schedule.
